The Russian Figure Skating Championship of the 2022/2023 season in Krasnoyarsk once again confirmed its status as one of the strongest national tournaments in the world. The country's top figure skaters went to the ice and the fight for medals unfolded in almost all aspects.
The main sensation in women's single skating was the victory of Sofia Akatieva. The skater confidently performed both programs and scored 249.74 points, ahead of Kamila Valieva, who came in second, and the experienced Elizabeth Tuktamysheva who rounded out the podium. The tournament once again demonstrated the high level of Russian women's skating, where the fight for medals unfolds literally among several strongest athletes.
In men's single skating Evgeni Semenenko won the gold. With a total of 294.75 points in two programs, he outpaced Vladislav Dikidzhi and Petr Gumennik, who took second and third places respectively. The men's tournament turned out to be one of the most intense: the difference between the prize-winners was minimal, and the final distribution of places was decided literally in the last performances of the free program.
In the pair skating competition Aleksandra Boikova and Dmitrii Kozlovskii emerged victorious. Their confident performances in both programs allowed them to score 234.39 points and outpace their main competitors — world champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov. Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov won the bronze medals.
Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva and Egor Bazin became the Russian champions in ice dancing, demonstrating confident performances and managing to outpace strong competition.
Traditionally, the championship became not only the main national event of the season but also a platform for new names. Young skaters showed a high level of difficulty and artistry, while experienced athletes confirmed their stability and competitiveness. The tournament in Krasnoyarsk once again demonstrated the depth of the Russian figure skating school and the high level of internal competition
